Our office is tucked away in the Khidmat Complex, right by The Bund here in Srinagar. We share some space with Medivet Agencies, which makes it easier to find if you know where they are. Being near The Bund is nice, though the weather gets really cold during the winter months. We usually have the heaters running all day then. It’s a busy spot in Kashmir, 190001 postcode. We spend our time managing the telecom services for this part of the city. It’s not a huge operation, just a handful of us making sure things stay connected. The stairs in the complex are a bit narrow, so carrying equipment up can be a pain. We’ve got a lot of files and old computers around. People come in mostly to ask about their bills or signal issues. We don't have those shiny glass windows like the offices in Delhi. It feels more like a regular workplace where you know everyone’s name. Sometimes the internet acts up, which is funny considering what we do, but we fix it eventually. Lunch usually happens at our desks or we go out for a quick bite if the work isn't piling up. It’s a steady routine. We’ve been at this Srinagar location for a good bit now and it feels like home. Nothing too complicated about what we do, just keeping the service running for the folks around here. We just stay here and do the daily tasks. It’s a lot of coffee and quiet talk.
