Tariq General Store

Tariq General Store is located in Munawarabad, right near Nowpora Chowk in the Sathu Barbar Shah part of Srinagar. It’s a corner of the city that stays pretty busy with people moving between the different neighborhoods. The store is just a regular local shop where we keep all the things you might need for your house on a daily basis. We have everything from cooking oil and spices to stationery for the school kids. My days usually start quite early, getting things ready before the morning rush. The shop isn't very big, so we have to use every bit of shelf space we have, sometimes even stacking things near the ceiling. It can get a bit chilly in the winter months, so we usually have a small heater going behind the counter while we wait for customers. I know most of the people who walk through the door because they’ve been living in this part of Srinagar for generations. We don't use any fancy marketing or big posters. Word of mouth is how people know us. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to use candles or a torch to find things for people, but no one seems to mind much. It’s just part of life here. We aim to be reliable, staying open even when the weather isn’t great. It’s a simple business, just helping our neighbors get their shopping done without having to go too far and carry heavy bags.
