Swat Book Center

Swat Book Center is a small place near Ibrahim Masjid in the Housing Colony at Bemina. It is a quiet enough area most of the time except when people are coming and going from the masjid. We have shelves and shelves of books stacked up. Some are new and some have been sitting there for a while gathering a little dust. We try to keep things in some kind of order but books have a way of getting mixed up when people are browsing through them. It is mostly just me and a couple of others here. We know where most things are even if it looks a bit cluttered to someone else. The kids from the colony come in sometimes looking for school books or pens. It feels like a neighborhood spot. We don't do any big promotions or anything like that. If someone needs a book they usually just walk in and ask. The lighting isn't the best in the back corners so we have to use a torch sometimes to find things. We spend a lot of time unpacking crates and marking prices. It is a slow pace compared to the city center but we like it that way. We just keep the doors open and see who comes by. It is a simple life surrounded by paper and ink. We are just happy to be a part of the local community here.
