S Y General Store

The shop is right here in the Gupta Hotel Building in Karan Nagar. Being near the Sumo Stand means there is always a bit of noise and people moving around Srinagar. It is just a small place, nothing fancy. We opened up S Y General Store because people in this part of town need a spot to grab their daily things without walking too far. Every morning, we unlock the doors and start putting things out. You can find most basic stuff here, from tea leaves to batteries. It gets crowded when the sumos arrive or leave, so we stay busy during those hours. The weather in Srinagar can be a bit tricky, especially when it gets cold, but the shop stays open regardless. We know most of the drivers and the people living nearby. It is just how life goes here. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us making sure the shelves aren't empty. People stop in, ask how things are going, and buy what they need for their homes. Sometimes it is just a packet of biscuits or a bottle of water. We have been in this building for some time now and it feels like home to us. It is a simple job but it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. If you are passing through the Sumo Stand, you will see us right there. There is no big sign or flashing lights, just our regular store front. We aren't trying to do anything big, just keep the store running.
