Raja Provisional Store

People around Safa Kadal have been seeing this shop for a long time. It’s right across the police station here in Nawa Kadal. Most days start pretty early because folks need their milk and bread before they head out to work. Being so close to the college means we get a lot of students coming in too. They usually want snacks or pens or something they forgot for their classes. Srinagar weather can be tough sometimes, especially when it rains or snows, so the shop gets a bit damp, but we just keep things moving. The shelves aren't fancy or anything, just rows of biscuits, tea, and the usual groceries. We try to keep the staples like rice and flour in stock because that is what families around here need the most. Sometimes the street gets really busy with traffic and people walking by, making it loud inside. My hands are usually busy weighing out sugar or packing bags for the neighbors. It isn't a huge place, just a simple room filled with whatever people might need for their kitchens. I spend most of my day sitting behind the wooden counter, talking to the regulars about the news or just the weather. You see the same faces every morning and evening. It's just a normal part of the neighborhood. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name and the items on the shelves. It’s just how it has been for years now.
