Police Hospital

This Police Hospital is situated in Srinagar, and the surroundings are quite different depending on the season. When it gets cold, we have to keep the heaters going all day to make sure the rooms stay warm enough for the patients. The building itself is sturdy to handle the weather we get up here. It’s a place meant for the police personnel and those connected to the service. We have a main entrance that leads into a waiting hall where people gather. It’s not a fancy place, just very practical. The windows are thick, and when it snows, you can see it piling up on the ledges outside. We have a staff of nurses and doctors who are used to the local conditions and the specific needs of the people here. The staff usually drinks a lot of tea to stay warm during the long winter months. The hallways are narrow and have that distinct smell of antiseptic and old wood. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just some basic health posters on the walls. The kitchen area makes simple meals for those staying in the wards. It's a quiet sort of place most of the time, tucked away in its part of the city. We focus on getting through the daily tasks and making sure everyone who walks in gets seen to without much fuss. Everyone knows their job and we get on with it as a team.
