Mudasir Provisional Store

Mudasir Provisional Store is right at the Main Chowk near Habak Crossing here in Srinagar. It's a spot where a lot of people pass by every day. We opened this shop to provide the basic things that households around Habak need. You can find the usual groceries like spices, cooking oil, tea, and some snacks. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a regular storefront with some crates stacked up. Inside, we try to keep things in order, but it gets busy and sometimes stuff stays in the boxes for a day or two. The winters here are cold, so we spend a lot of time keeping the place warm while we wait for customers. We get our supplies from the main markets in Srinagar and bring them here. It’s a lot of back and forth. We don't have a big staff, just ourselves and maybe a cousin helping out when it’s busy. We don't use any complicated systems for our sales; it’s mostly just keeping track in a notebook. People come in to buy their daily bread or some sugar and stay for a quick chat about the weather or the news. We’re just a small part of the crossing here. There’s no big corporate strategy behind what we do. We just open up in the morning and stay until the evening, making sure we have what the neighborhood needs.
