Melody Ice Point

You might think it is strange to have an ice cream place in a cold place like Srinagar, but people here love their sweets. Melody Ice Point is our small shop in Gojwara. We have a few big freezers that take up most of the space. We sell different kinds of ice cream, cold drinks, and some small snacks. During the summer months, the shop is always full of kids and teenagers. They like to come here after school. Even in the winter, some people still come in for a treat, though it is much quieter then. The hum of the freezers is the main sound you hear in the shop. We also keep some chocolates and biscuits on the side shelves. It is a simple setup. My brother and I take turns sitting at the counter. We do not have any tables or chairs inside because the space is too small, so people just stand outside or walk while they eat. Gojwara is a nice area with a lot of old houses. We like being part of the community. We have had this shop for several years and it has become a bit of a local landmark for the kids. We try to keep the favorite flavors always in stock. It is a nice way to spend the day, seeing people happy when they get their favorite cone. We try to keep the place tidy.
