Masomeen General Store

Masomeen General Store is located in the Gassiyar area of Zadibal, right in Alamgari Bazar in Srinagar. The atmosphere here is quite different from the big cities down south. We deal with the cold winters and the busy summer seasons as they come. The shop is tucked into the bazar where people walk by all day long. We keep a variety of general items that the local residents need for their daily lives. You’ll find things like tea, basic medicines, and household cleaners on our shelves. The building is older and has that traditional look you see around this part of Srinagar. Inside, it’s often a bit dark because the windows are small and the alley is narrow, but we have enough light to see the goods. We spend a lot of time drinking salt tea and chatting with whoever stops by to rest for a minute. It’s a very social place in that way. We don't have any marketing plans or big slogans. We just try to keep the stock full so people don't have to go far to find what they need. Sometimes the heavy snow makes it hard for deliveries to reach us, so we have to manage with what we have on hand. It’s a slow pace of life here. We open up in the morning and close when the bazar starts to empty out for prayers. It’s just a regular store run by regular people who know the neighbors.
