M. A. K. Leather Company

You can find us near the Hotel Dar-es-Salam in the Nandpora area of Rainawari. It’s a beautiful part of the world, but it gets quite cold in the winters. We deal mostly in leather goods, and the shop is usually filled with that heavy, earthy scent of treated hides. We’ve got jackets, bags, and other bits and pieces spread out on the counters. It’s not a polished store by any means. The wooden floorboards creak when you walk on them, and the shelves are a bit uneven. We spend our days checking the quality of the leather and making sure the zippers work. A lot of our time is spent talking to visitors who are staying nearby, explaining how the different skins feel and wear over time. We don't have a website or any fancy ads; we just rely on people walking past and seeing what we have. Sometimes we sit outside when the sun is out, just watching the street life go by. The leather work is slow and requires a lot of patience, especially when the weather is damp. We’ve been part of this community for a long time, and we just keep doing things the way we were taught. It’s a quiet existence, mostly focused on the materials and the tools we use every day. We just hope the items we make last a long time and serve their owners well in the coming years.
