We’ve been here at The Clay Model Barzalla for a while now. Most days it’s just us working through the various trading and contracting jobs that come our way. It isn't always flashy or exciting, but we keep things moving. My father started things out, and we’ve mostly just kept up with what needs doing in the local area. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when we have outdoor projects going on, but that’s just how it goes in this part of town. People usually find us by asking around or just seeing the sign when they walk past. We don't spend a lot of time on the computer or making fancy brochures. Most of our day is spent handling materials or talking to guys on the sites. It gets dusty and loud sometimes. I usually have coffee sitting on the corner of my desk, next to a pile of invoices that never seems to get any smaller. We aren't a massive operation with hundreds of people, just a small group trying to get the work done right so we can go home on time. Some days are longer than others. If a shipment is late or a machine breaks down, we just stay until it's sorted. It’s a straightforward life here. We know the neighbors and the other businesses nearby pretty well. It feels like home after all these years. If you're looking for us, we’re usually around the office most mornings unless we're out on a job site checking on things.
