Kolohoy Sports And Education Foundation

We've been around Srinagar for a while now, mostly focusing on things involving kids and sports. It’s based out of Rawatpora, right near Broadway in the Bhagat area. Sheena Shah is the person who looks after the place and keeps the paperwork in order. We noticed that a lot of young people around here don't have many places to go or things to do that keep them busy in a good way. So, we started this foundation to bridge that gap. We try to combine some basic schooling with sports activities. It’s not anything fancy, just a small operation run by local folks who care about the neighborhood. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to get things moving, especially in the winters here in Kashmir, but we manage. People drop by the office to talk about local events or how to get their kids involved in some football or cricket. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It's just a space where we keep our gear and books. It gets a bit busy during the school breaks. We just want to make sure the youth have something to focus on besides sitting around. Most of the time it's just about showing up and helping out where we can. It’s been a slow process getting everything set up, but we're here on the ground. If you're walking through Bhagat, you might see us around. We’re just trying to do our bit for the community without making a big fuss about it.
