Kiryana Shop

This is our Kiryana Shop up in Ganderbal, near Srinagar. Specifically, we are in Mammer, Tehsil Kangan. The mountains are all around us here. It’s a small shop serving the local village and travelers passing through. We keep the basic groceries like flour, oil, and tea. Life in 191201 is quiet compared to the city. We open the shop early and usually, the first customers are neighbors getting things for breakfast. It’s cold here in the winters, so we have to keep a small heater inside. The store isn't anything special to look at, just a wooden structure with plenty of supplies inside. I’ve lived in Kangan all my life and the shop is how I make a living. People stop by to chat and share news about the valley. We don't have a big sign or anything. Most people just know where the kiryana shop is. It’s a simple way to live. Sometimes the roads get blocked when it snows, so we have to make sure we have enough stock stored up. It’s just me and my brother running it most of the time. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop, just a reliable one for the people living in Mammer. It’s a beautiful place to work every day. We also have some cattle feed in the back for the local farmers. The air here is fresh, which is nice. I usually drink a lot of Noon Chai during the day.
