Magray Willow Work's

Starting out in Kachan Ganderbal wasn't really a big plan or anything. We just grew up around the willow trees and it made sense to start Magray Willow Work's. Most days we are just here near the Lasa Sob All In One Shop. If you know the area, you know it gets busy around there with people coming and going. We spend a lot of time working the wood, getting it right so things don't break. It’s a lot of manual labor, honestly. My hands are usually pretty rough by the end of the week. We don't have a big fancy office or a lobby with coffee. It's just the workspace and the smell of shaved wood everywhere. Sometimes the weather gets in the way, especially when it's damp, but we manage. People stop by because they saw us from the road or they know someone who bought something here years ago. We just keep doing what we know how to do. There's plenty of willow to go around here. We usually open up early before the sun gets too high and stay until it’s time to go home to our families. It’s quiet work most of the time, just the sound of the tools and maybe some traffic from the main road. We don't do much advertising. Most people just walk in. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here in Kachan. We’ve been at this for a while now and don't see that changing anytime soon.
