Ircon International Limited has a spot here in Srinagar at the Railway Holiday Home in Tulsibagh. Being in Jammu and Kashmir means the views are great, but the work is still tough. We have our assistant manager and the civil team working out of this location. It’s a bit of a unique setup being part of the holiday home area. You’ll find us busy with the railway projects around here. The mountains make the engineering side of things pretty complicated, so we spend a lot of time figuring out logistics. It's not like working in a flat city. Winters get cold, and sometimes the snow makes getting to the office a bit of a trek, but we stay on top of things. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place to keep our gear and sit down to work on the site plans. We drink a lot of tea to keep warm while we go over the day’s tasks. People around here know us for the railway work we do. It’s a local operation in a way, even though we are part of a bigger company. We’ve got our boots on the ground, literally. There is always something to fix or a new problem to solve with the tracks or the stations. It’s just us doing the best we can with what we have in this part of the country. It gets quiet sometimes when the crews are all out on location for days. We just wait for the radio calls.
