Imtiyaz Provisional Store

In the Nawa Bazar area of Srinagar, right by the Pather Masjid, you will find our small shop. It is a traditional provisional store where we keep things that people need every day. Srinagar can get very cold, so we make sure to have plenty of tea, salt, and heavy grains in stock. The shop is tucked away in Dalal Mohalla. It’s not a big place, but we pack a lot into it. We have everything from matches and candles to cooking oil and flour. The building is old, and the wooden shelves have seen many years of service. We don't have a website or any marketing. People just walk in because they live nearby or are passing the masjid. We know most of the families around here. When the snow comes, it gets harder to get supplies, so we try to keep the back room full. It’s a lot of work staying open during the winters, but the neighborhood depends on us for their sugar and milk. We don't try to be anything we are not. It’s just a local shop for local people. We count the cash at the end of the day and start again the next morning. It’s a simple way of living and working. Some days are slow but we stay until late evening just in case someone needs a last minute item.
