You can find us in the Housing Colony at Bemina, right behind Kargil House. It is a relatively quiet spot in Srinagar compared to the busy main markets. This is where we run our local insurance office. It is basically just a room with some desks, some filing cabinets, and a heater for the cold winter months. We handle all sorts of general insurance tasks for the people living in this part of Kashmir. Most of the day is spent going over policy details or helping someone fill out a claim form because they had some damage or a minor accident. We know most of the people around here, and they know exactly where to find us when they need help. It is not a high-tech setup by any means. We rely on our printed records and talking to people face to face. When the weather gets bad, things slow down, but we try to keep the office open as much as we possibly can. We do not use a lot of big words or try to sell things that people do not actually need. It is more about being a reliable place in the colony where you can get your papers fixed up. Sometimes we just sit and have tea with whoever drops in while we wait for the computer system to load. It is a simple, practical way to run a business.
