Hyper Mart

Even though the name says Hyper Mart, we are just a local shop sitting here at the Main Chowk in Hyderpora. You can find us on the New Airport Road in Budgam. It is a pretty straightforward place with rows of snacks, drinks, and household goods. The lights inside are those bright white tubes that hum a little bit if you listen closely. I spend a lot of time rearranging the crates of milk and making sure the fridge is stocked with cold sodas. The traffic outside is constant because of the airport nearby, so there is always a bit of a rush. It is not a fancy place with shopping carts or anything, just a spot to grab what you need for the house. My brother helps me out sometimes when we get a big delivery. We have to carry everything in from the truck parked near the chowk. The floor tiles are a bit worn out from all the walking, but they hold up. I like the busy atmosphere of this part of Hyderpora. People are always in a hurry to catch their flights or get home from work. We keep things simple here. No complicated systems, just a cash drawer and some shelves. I usually stay until late evening before pulling down the shutters. It is a long day, but it feels good to be part of the neighborhood here. We are just a regular shop for regular folks.
