Gousia Provisional Store

We are located in the Baran Pather area of Batamaloo, right here in Srinagar. Our shop is quite close to the fire service station and the Masjid Abuhanies. It’s a busy part of the city. We’ve been running this provisional store for years, serving the people who live in the nearby lanes. We keep all the basic food items and household goods that families need every day. Since it’s Srinagar, the weather dictates a lot of how we work, especially when it gets very cold. We try to keep plenty of stock so people don’t have to travel far in bad weather. The shop isn’t very large, but we pack a lot into it. You’ll find different types of tea, rice, and cooking oils on our shelves. We know our neighbors well, and they know us. It’s the kind of place where you can come in for a quick chat while you buy your bread or milk. We don’t have any fancy advertising. People just know we are here. Sometimes the street gets crowded with traffic, but the store is a steady place for the locals. We just focus on keeping the essentials available. It’s a simple business, really. We open up early and close once the evening prayers are done and things settle down. If you’re walking past the fire station, you’ll find us right there in the neighborhood.
