Gh Mohd Bhat General Store

We have been here in Soura for quite a while now. Most people know the shop since it's right near the Auquaf Building. It is a simple place where we keep the usual things like tea, sugar, and flour. Life in Srinagar is busy but we try to keep things steady here at Gh Mohd Bhat General Store. Every morning starts with unloading a few crates and making sure the shelves aren't empty for the early birds. It gets very cold in the winters but the locals still stop by for their daily needs. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just a small room filled with boxes and bags. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a torch to find what someone wants in the back. We know most of our customers by their faces if not their names. It’s a quiet life mostly. You see the same people every day coming for their bread or milk before they go to work. We try to stock what people ask for, but sometimes things run out if the trucks are delayed on the highway. The shop is a bit cramped but it works for us and the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time just talking to neighbors who pass by the window. It’s not a big supermarket, just a local spot where you can grab what you need on the way home. We just keep the doors open and do our work every day.
