General Provision Store

This shop is in the Rather Building over in Buchwara, Dalgate. It is called General Provision Store, which is a simple name for a simple place. We are quite close to Gul Pharmacy, which helps people find us in the Srinagar 190001 area. The weather here changes things a lot for us. In the winter, we have to keep everything tucked in tight against the cold, and in the summer, the doors stay wide open. We stock everything from flour and salt to those small things you forget to buy until you run out. The shelves are mostly wooden and old, piled high with boxes. It gets a bit cramped when more than two people are inside at once. I usually sit near the front to keep an eye on the street. Dalgate is a place where everyone seems to be in a hurry, but they stop here for their basic rations. We do not do any big advertising. People just know we are here. Sometimes the stock takes a while to arrive when the roads are bad. We just deal with it as it comes. It is a quiet way to make a living, honestly. The store has its own smell, a mix of spices and packing paper. It has been part of my life for a long time now. We are just a basic shop for the people living nearby who need their daily supplies without any fuss.
