Gaash A Young Foundation

Gaash A Young Foundation is located over in Rambagh, right near the Zum Zum Hotel in Srinagar. We are in Lane Number 02, House Number 05. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you know the area well. We’ve been operating from this house for some time now. Srinagar is a beautiful place but it has its share of struggles, especially for the younger folks who live here. That is why we started this foundation. We wanted to give the youth something to focus on besides the usual daily grind. It is a small setup, nothing too grand or polished. We spend a lot of our time just listening to what the local kids and families actually need. There is always a lot of noise from the street, but inside we try to keep things quiet and focused. We don’t have a big budget or a lot of staff. It’s mostly just us volunteers putting in the hours after our regular jobs are finished. Sometimes we get together in the evenings to plan out what to do for the next week. We aren't experts, just people who care about Rambagh and the surrounding lanes. If you’re walking past the Zum Zum Hotel, you’re basically right there at our doorstep. We try to be a place where people can just come in and talk. It’s not always easy, but we’re trying our best for Srinagar.
