We are over here in Srinagar, specifically in Iqbal Colony which is right across from the Gurudwara in Zainakote. Basharat Ahmed Qureshi runs things from here most days. It’s a busy spot but we like it that way. Most of the time we are just busy with the fabrics and making sure everything is moving right with the cashmere side of things. It gets quite cold here in the winters but that’s when the work feels most real to us. The office isn't anything fancy, just a place where we get the job done. Sometimes people get a little lost looking for the colony, but once you see the Gurudwara you know you’re close. We started Cashmere Threads Private Limited because we know these materials well. It's just a few of us working together. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. Just some desks and samples and a lot of phone calls to make. Sometimes the tea runs out and someone has to go out and get more from the shop nearby. That’s just how it is here. Srinagar is a beautiful place to work from even if the traffic gets a bit much near our turn. We deal with people from all over who want the stuff we handle. It's a lot of manual tracking and keeping the books straight. We try to keep things simple and honest. If you ever find yourself in Zainakote, you’ll probably see us around. We’ve been here a while.
