Buildwell Constructions & Fabrications is tucked away in Nowgam, Srinagar. Our place is House Number 20 in Kanipora, specifically in Hamza Colony Sector A. We are quite close to Masjid Umar, which is what we tell everyone when they are looking for us. In this part of Kashmir, the weather really dictates how we work. When it gets really cold or starts snowing, the construction side of things slows down a lot, but the fabrication work keeps us busy in the workshop. We handle a lot of ironwork, gates, and structural stuff. It’s heavy, dirty work and our hands are rarely clean. We’ve been part of this community for a while now. Most of our days start early, checking on the materials and making sure the welding is done right. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Word usually just spreads from one neighbor to another when they see a house being built or a new gate going up. It’s a small operation, really. Just a few of us making sure things are built solid enough to handle the winters here. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of steel and have to wait for a shipment to arrive, but we always find something else to do in the meantime. It’s just how it goes in this trade. We don't mind the hard work as long as the finished product looks right.
