Bhat General Store

People stop by not just to buy things, but to say hello. I don't have a big corporate strategy. I just try to keep the shelves stocked with what people actually use. Sometimes the supply chain is slow, especially if the roads are blocked, but we make do with what we have. The counter is made of old wood and is worn smooth from years of use. I don't use much technology here; a simple notebook is enough for my accounts. The air in Srinagar is crisp, and the shop can get quite chilly. I don’t mind it much. It’s just the way things are here. I like the routine of opening up and seeing the same faces every day. It’s a simple life in a simple shop.
