You will find Oriental Shoe Co. right near the bus stand in Baran Pathar. It is a location that stays busy from early in the morning until late at night because of all the travelers coming and going. We have been here at this spot for a very long time and most people in the area know our shop. It is a small space that is crowded with boxes of shoes and tools for making repairs. We don't have any of the modern displays you might see in a big mall. Instead we have simple wooden shelves and a couple of chairs for people to sit while they try things on. The smell of the shop is a mix of leather and polish which is something we have grown to love over the years. We spend our days talking to the people who stop by while they wait for their bus. It is a good way to stay connected to the community. Sometimes the noise from the bus stand is a bit overwhelming but it also brings us most of our business so we don't complain. We aren't a big chain store or anything like that. We are just a local shoe company that takes pride in the fact that we have been able to stay in business in the same spot for so long. It is honest work and we enjoy being right in the middle of all the local activity.
