Ajaz & Co is located in Nawa Bazar, right in the middle of Srinagar. We have been operating from this address for many years now. It is a traditional kind of business where we handle various types of goods that people and other shops need. Nawa Bazar is an old part of the city and it has its own rhythm. The buildings are close together and the lanes can be narrow. Our shop is a place of business where things are constantly being moved in and out. We deal with suppliers and local customers every single day. There is no corporate office feel here. It’s just desks, ledgers, and stacks of items waiting to be sent out or sold. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in with orders. The work is steady and keeps us on our feet from morning until the sun goes down. We don't believe in having a fancy setup. We just focus on the trade we know. Srinagar can be cold in the winter, so we usually have a small heater going while we work on our accounts. People know us as a reliable place in the market. It is an honest way to spend the day, and we have seen many generations of shoppers pass through these streets. We just keep doing what we do in this same spot.
