Sonu Garments

Sonu Garments is located in Parla Konda, which is just on the outskirts of Visakhapatnam. We have a small shop and a back room where the sewing machines are always humming. It’s a busy little place. We make clothes for everyday wear. Nothing too fancy or high-fashion, just good shirts and pants that last a while. The fabric arrives in big rolls, and we spend our days cutting and stitching. There are five of us working here most days. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to finish. We don't have a big store in the middle of the city because the rent is too high. Being out here in Parla Konda suits us better. We sell mostly to the local markets and sometimes people come directly to us. There is always lint on the floor and the smell of new cloth in the air. We don't have a professional photographer or a catalog. We just show people what we've finished that week. Sometimes the stitching isn't perfect, but we fix it right away if someone notices. We've been here for several years now. Most of our customers are regulars who know our names. We don't do much talking, we just keep our heads down and keep the machines moving. It's how we make our living. It’s just simple clothes made by local hands.
