Ap General Store

We are located at number 65 on the long road that goes from Sompeta to Baruva. It’s in the Mandapam area of Rapakaputtuga. If you are familiar with Sompet, it is really not hard to find us. The store is just a normal, everyday place where we keep all the things people need for their homes. We open the heavy metal shutters early when the sun is just coming up over the trees. There’s a lot of dust from the road sometimes because of the big trucks passing by. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass shelves and the counters. It’s a general store, so there is always something to count or move around in the back. We have sacks of grain and boxes piled up. The space isn’t very big, but we make it work for us. Most of the folks who stop by are from around this village. They know our names and we know theirs too. We talk about the rain or the price of goods. It’s not like those big supermarkets you see in the cities. Here, you just ask for what you want and we find it for you. The floor is hard concrete and we have a wooden counter that has seen better days. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything. People just see the sign outside and come in. It’s a quiet life mostly, except when the school kids come by for their snacks. We just keep going, day after day, keeping the store running for the people in Rapakaputtuga.
