Our shop is right in the middle of the New Cloth Market at No. 91-92. It is a very busy area, especially being so close to Shiv Chowk where the traffic never seems to stop. If you come by in the morning, you will see us opening up the shutters and moving bags around to make space for people to walk in. Shri Ram Seeds has been a part of this market for a while now. The building is older, but it serves its purpose well enough for storing everything we need to keep on hand. There is always a lot of noise from the street, with rickshaws honking and people shouting out prices, but we have grown used to it over the years. We spend most of our time talking to farmers and regulars who drop in to see what is new or just to have a quick chat about the upcoming season. The shelves are usually packed tight, and sometimes it is a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. We don't use a lot of technology for our record-keeping, mostly just the old ledgers and notebooks that we have used forever. It feels more real that way. Dealing with seeds means we are always thinking about the weather and the rain, just like everyone else in the market. It is a noisy, crowded, and lively place to spend a workday.
