Salasar Traders

You can find us at Shop-2 in Deepa Bhawan, which is right near the Birbal Chowk. It’s a very busy part of town, so there is always a lot of honking and people walking past the shop window. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The shop is a bit small, so we have to stack the goods all the way up to the ceiling. Sometimes it’s a real struggle to find something that got pushed to the back months ago. We sell all sorts of trading goods, mostly things people need for their houses or small projects. We don't have a computer system that works perfectly, so we still write down most of our sales in a thick red book. The morning starts with sweeping the front and getting the dust off the display items. Birbal Chowk is a landmark, so people use our shop as a meeting point sometimes. We don't mind, as long as they don't block the doorway for the customers. My brother helps out on the weekends when it gets really crowded. We usually have a tea vendor who comes by at eleven, and that’s when we take a short break. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but we know where everything is by heart. It’s a basic trading business, nothing more and nothing less. We just try to have what people are looking for when they walk in.
