Padmaprabodha Chit Fund Private Limited

Our little spot is located on Buddaiah Gari Street, at 6-115/A. It’s a quiet enough street most of the time, though you get the occasional tractor or motorbike zooming past. The office is just a regular room that we’ve set up with what we need to keep the chit fund running. We have a couple of old cupboards filled with files and some plastic chairs for when the neighbors drop by to catch up or make their payments. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren’t from around here, but the locals know the way. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the door. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the calculator and the rustle of paper. Sometimes the neighborhood dogs come and sit near the entrance to stay out of the sun. We keep a water pot in the corner for anyone who’s thirsty. The floors are stone and stay relatively cool even when the sun is beating down outside. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people show up at once, but we make it work. We spend our mornings going through the books and our afternoons waiting for the last few people to stop in before we close up for the night. It’s a very local operation, and we like it that way because we get to see the same faces every month. Just a simple street-side office doing its job.
