Songsni Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group, Songsni Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located at 09 Chenggalgre in Dedenggre. It’s a bit of a mix with the addresses because we are tied to West Garo Hills but also listed near Mawkyrwat in the West Khasi Hills region, 793114. Farming across these different areas in Meghalaya keeps us on our toes. We are basically just a group of people from the villages who decided to work as one. The land here is varied, and so is what we grow. It is a lot of driving back and forth between the fields and our main spot. We don't have a big staff or a fancy building. It’s just us and the tools we use. Some days are spent purely on the logistics of getting things from the farm to the people who buy them. It’s not always pretty work, and there is a lot of mud and sweat involved. We don't bother with corporate talk because we don't really see the point. We just care about the harvest and making sure the farmers in our group are doing okay. Life in the hills is simple but tiring. We just keep at it because it’s what we know. Most of our meetings happen sitting around a table with tea, just talking about the crops. The weather in Mawkyrwat can be quite different from Dedenggre, so we have to stay adaptable. We are always learning something new from the soil.
