Naraina Industrial Area Phase II is a bit of a concrete jungle in Delhi. Welco Overseas is at A-41. It’s a big blocky building, typical for this part of town. The traffic getting here is enough to give anyone a headache, but once you’re inside, it’s all about the work. We deal with overseas stuff, so the timings can be a bit odd sometimes because of the time zones. The warehouse area is huge and echoes when it’s empty, though it’s rarely empty. There are crates and boxes stacked high, and the forklift is always beeping somewhere in the background. The office part has those old-style partitions and desks covered in piles of paper and forgotten coffee mugs. It’s not a pretty place, but it’s functional. We have a small pantry where we make tea, and that’s where most of the actual talking happens during the break. The air in Naraina can be a bit heavy with the exhaust from all the factories nearby. We spend our days tracking shipments and making sure the labels are right. It’s a lot of detail work that most people don't really see. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a clock that everyone watches when it gets close to five. It’s a tough area to work in, but we’ve been here at A-41 for a long time and got used to it.
