Vivek Contracts is tucked away in Surbhi Apartments over in Mehrauli. We are at A-1, 882/6, in Ward 6, which is a busy little corner of New Delhi. It’s not like those big corporate offices you see in Gurgaon. It’s a regular apartment that we use for managing our contracting work. There’s always someone coming in with a delivery receipt or a site update. Being in Mehrauli, it’s a bit crowded and the parking is a nightmare, but we’ve made it work for years. We handle various labor contracts and project management tasks from here. The rooms are filled with files, old ledgers, and some samples of building materials. It’s a bit cramped, especially when the whole team is in for a meeting, but it keeps us close to the ground. We drink a lot of tea and spend a lot of time on the mobile phones coordinating with workers at different sites across the city. It’s a lot of logistical juggling. We don't have a PR person or anyone to polish our image. We are just a group of people who know how to get things built and managed. The neighbors in the apartment complex are used to us by now. We just focus on keeping the projects moving and making sure the bills get paid on time. It is a lot of hard work, but we are used to the grind of the Delhi construction world.
