Universal Overseas Limited

Universal Overseas Limited is located at A-66 in Phase-I of the Naraina Industrial Area. If you know the area, you know it’s always crowded with trucks and people moving crates. Our building is one of the older ones on the block. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep. We spend most of our time dealing with shipping schedules and checking inventory in the warehouse downstairs. It gets quite hot in the summer, especially when the loaders are busy. We have a small office upstairs where we keep the computer and the landline. The phone rings a lot, usually people asking about their shipments. We try to be helpful, even when things are delayed at the port. My uncle started this business and I’ve been helping out since I finished school. We don't use much fancy software. A lot of our records are still kept in big bound registers. It feels more solid that way. We have a guy who brings around snacks every afternoon, which is usually the highlight of the day. The windows are a bit grimy from the street dust, but we can still see the main road. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just move goods from one place to another and make sure the paperwork is done. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. There are always boxes stacked in the hallway, so you have to watch your step when you visit.
