Tulsidas Khimji Pvt Ltd operates out of Mahipalpur in New Delhi, which is a place that never really seems to sleep. Being so close to the airport means there is always a constant hum of engines and a lot of people moving around. We are situated in the Satish Building, care of Jaswant Singh. It is a busy building with a lot of different things going on, but we have our own space where we focus on freight forwarding. The work we do is pretty practical. We spend our hours coordinating with different carriers and making sure all the cargo is moving according to the schedule. Our office is not very big, and it's filled with the sounds of keyboards tapping and the printer going off every few minutes. We have a couple of old fans that we rely on during the Delhi summers, and there’s always a stack of empty tea cups sitting on the corner of the desk by the end of the day. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the paper manifests and shipping labels lying around, but we know where everything is. We don't use any fancy software that does everything for us; it’s still very much a hands-on job where we have to talk to people and solve problems as they come up. Mahipalpur is a tough place to navigate, but it’s the right spot for this kind of business.
