Stone Art

Stone Art is tucked away at 348 Sultanpur, right along the Mehrauli Gurgaon Road. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by. Our yard is usually covered in a fine layer of white dust because there’s always someone cutting or carving something. It’s heavy work. We deal with big slabs and blocks of stone every single day. You can hear the sound of the grinders from the street. We started here because the location made sense for getting the trucks in and out. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny and perfect. It’s a working yard. We have piles of different stones stacked up everywhere. Sometimes it looks a bit messy, but we know where everything is. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, making the stone hot to the touch. Most of the guys have been with us a long time and they know how to handle the material without cracking it. We don’t do much talking; we just let the work speak for itself. People stop by when they’re driving towards Gurgaon to see what we have in stock. We just try to keep the quality steady. It’s a lot of lifting and moving stuff around with the crane. That’s just a normal day for us at Sultanpur. We focus on the physical labor of shaping stone and getting it ready for wherever it needs to go next.
