Slum Swaraj Foundation

We operate out of Flat No-303 at RZH-2/21 in Mahavir Enclave, Palam. It’s right near Sulabh International, so it’s pretty easy to give people directions. Slum Swaraj Foundation is a small setup. We don't have a fancy lobby or a bunch of secretaries. It’s just a flat where we’ve set up some tables and computers to get our work done. We started this because the situation in the local areas around Palam really needed someone to pay attention. We aren't a big professional agency. We’re just a group of friends and neighbors who wanted to make a change. Sometimes the elevator in the building is out of order, and we have to walk up to the third floor, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a lot of polished marketing materials or a big PR team. We just spend our time on the ground, seeing what’s happening and trying to fix things where we can. It’s often messy and unpredictable work. We don’t have all the answers, and we learn as we go. Most of our days are spent talking to people in the enclave and planning our next steps. We use simple English and don't try to sound like a big corporation. We’re just people living and working in Palam, trying to do something that makes sense. It’s hard work, but we like being right here in the middle of it.
