Signs N Designs

Signs N Designs is located in the basement of Ansal Chamber-I. Being at B-35 in Bhikaji Cama Place means we are in the middle of a lot of hustle. The basement stays a bit cooler than the street, which is a relief during the summer months in Delhi. We spend our hours working on different signboards and design layouts. It’s a messy process sometimes, with scraps of vinyl and bits of metal scattered around the floor. We try to keep it organized, but when three orders come in at once, the place looks like a storm hit it. We’ve been here long enough that we know the security guards and the tea seller upstairs by their first names. It’s a quiet life down here away from the main road traffic. We have some old computers that still work fine and a heavy cutting machine that makes a lot of noise. People come down the stairs looking for us to get their shop names printed or some office signs made. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a workshop where things get built. Sometimes the lights flicker, and we have to wait a minute for the generator to kick in. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. If a sign looks good and stays up for years, then we did our job right. That’s pretty much the whole story of how we run things in this basement every day.
