Scorpio Art Gallery

Down in Palam 4A Village, you’ll find our little gallery. It isn’t like the big, cold art galleries you see in the middle of the city where everything is white and silent. Scorpio Art Gallery is a bit more lived-in than that. We have paintings leaning against the walls and sometimes there’s a bit of dust on the frames if we’ve had a busy week. We just like art and wanted a place to show it. Most of the people who come in are just neighbors or folks from the village who are curious. We don't have any fancy degrees in art history or anything. We just know what we like to look at. Sometimes we have local artists bring their work in, and other times it’s just stuff we’ve found and thought was interesting. The lighting in the shop isn't always perfect, and the street outside can be quite loud with the scooters going by. It’s a small operation, usually just one or two of us here. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and talking to whoever wanders in. It’s not a high-pressure environment. If someone likes a piece, that’s great, and if they just want to look around, that’s fine too. We’ve been in Palam for a while and we like the slow pace of things here. It’s just a simple place for people to see some color and maybe find something they want to hang on their own walls.
