Our office is tucked away in Deenpur Extension, which is part of the Najafgarh area in New Delhi. It is a bit of a trek if you are coming from the main city, but we’ve been at B 24 for a long time. Being a costing firm, things are usually pretty quiet around here. It is mostly just the sound of calculators and people flipping through ledgers. We don’t have a big reception area or anyone to open the door for you; you just walk in and someone will look up from their desk. Ramanath Iyer started this a while back and we just kept going with the same routine. We spend a lot of time looking at numbers and making sure everything adds up for the clients who send their files over. The New Delhi heat can be tough in this part of town, so the AC is usually running full blast during the day. It’s a practical workspace with stacks of files everywhere. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with modern furniture or fancy art on the walls. Most of our clients are businesses that have been working with us for years. They know we stay until the job is finished, even if it means staying late on a Friday. It’s just how we operate here in Najafgarh. We usually close up around six, but if it’s tax season, the lights are on much later than that.
