Our spot is at Plot Number 99 in Ladrey Mohalla, over in Jaunapur. We are quite close to the Central Bank of India, which is how most people find us if they get lost in the lanes. This place is more of a workshop than a proper office. There’s usually art supplies scattered around and something being worked on in the middle of the room. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of all the materials we use, but that’s just how it is when you’re making things. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who enjoy the process of creating. The neighborhood is fairly quiet compared to the main roads of Delhi, which helps when we need to concentrate. We spend a lot of time on the floor or hunched over tables. It isn't the kind of place where you need to wear a tie. Most of us just wear old clothes that we don’t mind getting a bit of paint or clay on. We’ve been in this part of Jaunapur for a while now and the locals know us. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It's a practical way of living and working. We don't use any fancy systems to track our time, we just work until the piece looks right to us. It's honest work and we like it.
