Mahadeva Sweets & Namkeen

Our shop, Mahadeva Sweets & Namkeen, sits at 28/B in Palam Colony Raj Nagar. It’s a bit of a tight spot, but we manage. Most days it’s just the sound of the big fryers going in the back. We do a lot of namkeen because that’s what people around here seem to want the most. You can smell the spices from down the street if the wind is blowing the right way. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us making sure the batches don't burn. The floor gets a bit oily sometimes, so we’re always mopping it up. It’s a simple life, just weighing out bags of snacks and stacking boxes of sweets. Some customers have been coming here since we first opened the doors at this address. They tell us about their kids or complain about the traffic on the way here. We just listen and pack their bags. It gets hectic around the holidays, and we barely have time to sit down. My back usually aches by the end of the day, but seeing the shelves empty out is a good feeling. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Raj Nagar. We just want to make sure the stuff we put out is fresh. It’s just us doing our best in a small corner of the colony.
