Our base is right out on National Highway 8. If you’ve ever driven that way, you know how the trucks are always lined up and the dust never really settles. We spend a lot of our time surrounded by cardboard boxes, rolls of brown tape, and thick bubble wrap. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things from one place to another. Our team is usually busy loading up the back of a truck or trying to figure out how to fit a big sofa through a small doorway. It’s physical work and it gets pretty hot out there on the highway, especially in the summer months. We don’t have a polished showroom because our work happens in the back of vans and inside people’s living rooms. Everything smells a bit like diesel and packing paper. We go through so much tape in a week you wouldn't believe it. Sometimes the traffic on NH8 makes our schedules a bit messy, but we try to get to the destination as soon as the road clears up. We aren't a big company with hundreds of employees; we’re just a group of guys who know how to pack a box so nothing breaks. We’ve moved everything from heavy fridges to small bags of clothes. It’s just about getting the job done and moving on to the next house. The highway is always loud, but that’s where the work is.
