Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jharodakalan

Jharodakalan is a bit of a trek for some, but for us at Kendriya Vidyalaya, it is just where we work. The school sits out where things feel a little more open and less crowded than the middle of Delhi. You see a lot of green patches and open fields on the way here. The air feels a bit different. Our school day starts when the buses arrive, bringing in students from all over the surrounding areas. The building is a standard design, functional and sturdy. We have a lot of classrooms, and they stay pretty busy from eight in the morning until the afternoon. The staff room is a place where we drink a lot of tea and grade papers. We don't have fancy decorations, just some maps on the walls and maybe some student art in the primary section. The playground is quite large, so there is plenty of space for the physical education classes. Sometimes the wind picks up and blows some dust into the rooms, but we just sweep it out. It’s a very practical environment. We follow the central curriculum and make sure everyone stays on track with their studies. When the final bell rings, there is a big rush for the gates, and then the place gets very quiet again. We pack up our bags, lock the doors, and head home, ready to do the same thing tomorrow morning.
