We are located in Sector-6 of R.K. Puram in New Delhi. Our office is at number 585. It is a place filled with rolls of paper, pens, and computer screens showing various building layouts. Architecture is a lot of staring at screens and then going out to dusty construction sites to see if the actual work matches the drawings. Delhi is a huge city, so we spend a good chunk of our time just traveling between the office and various projects. The traffic can be a nightmare most days, but you get used to it after living here for a few years. We are not a big corporate firm with a fancy lobby and a receptionist. When you come in, you will probably see us hunched over our desks or discussing where a specific wall should go. It is a collaborative environment, but it can get a bit chaotic when deadlines are getting close. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the long afternoons. Sometimes we have to deal with permits and government paperwork that takes forever to process, which is the less interesting part of the job. But mostly, we just like the process of figuring out how a space should look and function. We have worked on all sorts of buildings around the city. It is a steady rhythm of designing, checking, and then seeing the actual structure take shape. It is hard work, but satisfying.
