H M Mart

We are over at Dwarka Sector 6, in the DDA Shopping Centre at shop number 46. Our plot is 13/14, and most people find us because we are quite close to the Post Office. Being a "mart" sounds big, but we are really just a local shop trying to provide everything under one roof. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself. The shelves are filled with everything from snacks to cleaning supplies. It gets a bit chaotic when the supply trucks come because they park right out front and we have to hurry to unload everything before the traffic builds up. The shop is well-lit, but it’s not some polished supermarket. You’ll see some boxes piled up in the corners and the register sometimes acts up when it’s been on too long. I spend a lot of time just talking to the people who walk in. Many of them are just coming from the post office or live in the nearby flats. We don't do any big advertising. We just put a chalkboard outside sometimes if we have something new. It’s a lot of long hours, standing on the tiled floor and keeping track of all the little items. But it’s a good life in Dwarka. We just keep things running as best as we can, day in and day out, without any fuss.
