If you head behind Bhikaji Cama Place into Mohammadpur, you’ll find us. G L & Sons is a family-run thing, and we’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s a bit of a maze back here, away from the big glass buildings of the main commercial center. Our shop is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s not a polished operation with shiny floors. Instead, it’s full of ledgers, old wooden desks, and whatever stock we are currently handling. We’ve grown up in this neighborhood, so we know most of the people walking past our door. Usually, one of the sons is handling the customers while the older generation keeps an eye on the accounts. It’s a slow and steady kind of rhythm. We don't have a website or any of that new stuff; we just rely on people knowing where we are and what we do. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on plastic chairs until it comes back, chatting with the neighbors. It’s a simple way of doing business. We deal with whatever comes our way, whether it’s a small order or a big one that takes up the whole week. It’s about being reliable and showing up every morning to open the locks. We like being tucked away behind the main road where things feel a bit more like a village despite being in the middle of the city.
