Friends Overseas

Our place is at S-11 in Green Park Extension, which is a nice enough area with some trees and a bit of a slower pace than the main markets. The office is pretty straightforward, just a few desks and some filing cabinets where we keep all the records. We deal with overseas matters, so a lot of our day is spent on the computer or talking to people about their plans. It isn't a flashy setup with glass partitions; it is more like a shared workspace where everyone knows each other. We have an old rug in the middle of the floor that has seen better days, and the printer sometimes jams when we are in a hurry. Most of us have been working together for a while, so we just get on with things without needing much direction. People stop by to drop off documents or just to ask how long a process will take. We don't have a receptionist, so whoever is closest to the door usually says hello and helps out. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front window and it gets a bit warm, so we usually have to keep the blinds pulled halfway down. It is a simple, functional office where we do the work that needs doing. We don't try to be anything we aren't; we just handle the overseas stuff and go home at the end of the day.
